Who maintains the fields?

The Facility Supervisor facilitates field and facility maintenance. Volunteers maintain the fields and complete minor repairs as needed and approved by the Board of Directors. The Facility Supervisor will also coordinate volunteers (PLL families) for scheduled Field Maintenance Days to help minimize the cost of contractors and properly prepare the facility for each season.

Teams and Coaches are responsible to complete regular field upkeep, before and after scheduled practices/games, which includes:

  • chalk the field, put out bases, rake/drag and water (as needed) the infield
  • clean dug outs and bleachers
  • empty trash can liners into dumpster
  • remove bases and store in shed
  • put away all field maintenance tools/equipment in proper location (clean and organized)
  • lock dug outs and field fences
  • turn off lights (if applicable)
  • secure facility gate (last person to leave premises)

NOTE: Coaches are encouraged to divide tasks among team families to prepare the fields before and after practices/games.

Who runs the Concession Stand?

The Concession Manager facilitates operation of the concession stand. Concessions are only available when volunteers staff the stand. Each team will be scheduled a designated number of shifts during the season.

What is the time commitment per week for playing in PAYBAS?

During the Spring season, there are typically two games per week with one on an evening during the week and one on the weekend.  Teams may travel to neighboring leagues for games depending on scheduling opportunities.  Practices are generally one evening during the week and could be held off site.  The number of practices are subject to field availability and are up to the discretion of the manager of the team.  Please refer to the current constitution and bylaws of the league for a detailed explanation of league operating procedures.

The Fall season is considered a development season. In general, you will have one game per week on a weekend and one to two practices per week.  If your division plays inter-league games, the game schedules could vary due to availability of teams from other leagues in the surrounding area.
