Player Evaluations and Registration on February 27, 2021

Player Evaluation Day and Registration Info ...

PLEASE NOTE: WE DISCOVERED YESTERDAY THAT OUR RESTROOM PIPES WERE CRACKED DURING THE WINTER STORM LAST WEEK. WE WERE ABLE TO GET PORTABLE RESTROOMS RENTED FOR THE NEAR TERM. WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS MAY CAUSE.

Player Evaluations:
Our first player evaluation is scheduled for Saturday, February 27th at 9:00 am. If you cannot attend this Saturday's session, we will also be having a player evaluation on March 6th at 9:00 am. We ask that families arrive early to check in and get the players warmed up so that we are ready to start at 9:00 am. Player evaluations are for Minor B, Minor A, and Majors only this season. Players who are registered for Tee Ball, Pee Wee, Juniors Baseball, Seniors Baseball or any division of Softball do not need to attend a player evaluation.

Players will be evaluated on basic baseball skills (fielding, throwing, running, and hitting) and this information is used by the league and coaches to create teams. These are not try-outs. Nobody will be refused. Instead, this process allows us to create teams as evenly as possible. For those of you who are new to us, our complex is located behind Pflugerville Elementary School which is located at 701 Immanuel Road. We ask that the players come with their gloves, helmets, and bats. If you do not have equipment, we will have some that can be borrowed from the concession stand.

COVID-19 Protocols:
We are asking that all families comply with the COVID-19 Protocols that are posted on our website. Please click on the COVID-19 Info tab for more information. For our players attending the player evaluations, our protocols state that players need to wear masks when not on the playing field, but as they enter the field they can take them off. During the player evaluations there will be times (during the batting portion of the evaluation) when all of the players will be off of the field. The players can stay in the dug out with their masks on or they can come stay with you all (parents) during this time. We had tremendous success with these protocols during our fall season as we had no reported cases of COVID-19. Please visit the website for more information.

Volunteers Needed:
We are a 100% volunteer-based, non-profit organization. The league is solely responsible for all of the facility maintenance, operations, and field maintenance. Currently there are 7 of us who are on the board and all 7 of us also help coach teams. All of us also have full time jobs and families. We need your help! We are so excited that we can offer this service to our community, but it takes a village to make things run smoothly and to make this organization outstanding. We need volunteers to help in several different capacities. We need more board members, including a safety office, communications officer, and concession stand manager. We still need coaches for this season, specifically in Pee Wee and Minor B. We need help organizing the concession stand schedule, completing some maintenance projects (broken bleachers, fence repair, landscape repair) around the complex, general field maintenance. The wonderful thing is that we all can help in some capacity. We are dedicated to serving our community and providing baseball and softball to our community. Please join us in making an impact.

Registration:
Our registration process will be closing this weekend. If you know of any other families who are looking to play ball this spring, let them know that we have some spots available. Once our registration process closes and we complete our player evaluations, we will draft our teams and then coaches will reach out to families regarding practices and schedules. Right now, we are looking at starting practices the week of March 8th. Our opening day for games will be on Saturday, March 27th. We are looking forward to a great season!
